Is your senior loved one:
- recovering from a recent surgery, heart attack, or stroke?
- struggling to manage the health complications of a chronic disease or disability?
- in need of assistance above personal care tasks?
Manage their health needs with skilled care from compassionate, trained professionals
Benefits of a Home Health Aide
Similar to caregivers, home health aides can perform personal care tasks, such as assisting with dressing, transferring, bathing, light housekeeping, meal preparation, and transportation. However, home health aides receive training and are able to perform tasks in addition to those that a non-medical caregiver would provide.
For example, home health aides with specialized training can administer a client’s medication or check vital signs such as pulse, temperature, respiration. Some can also provide help with braces or artificial limbs and perform a number of skilled nursing duties. Qualified home health aides may also change bandages and dressings and help with medical equipment.
If an even higher level of skilled care is needed, your home health aide could be a trained Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Assistant (PCA).
